Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Skylanes is a strategy board game for iPhone, iPad, and Mac, published by Row1 LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the Skylanes app and the skylanes.app website do, and just as importantly, what they do not do, with information about you.

2. Information the app collects

The Skylanes app does not require an account and collects no personal information such as your name, email, phone number, contacts, or photos. Your gameplay — saved games, settings, and preferences — is stored locally on your device.

To understand how the game is used and to improve it, the app sends a small amount of anonymous usage data: which screens you open and for how long, app launches, the app version, your device model and OS version, and an approximate location (city and region estimated from your IP address — not your device's GPS or precise location). This is tied only to a random identifier generated on your device, never to your name or an account. We use it solely for our own product analytics. We do not use it to track you across other apps or services, and we never sell or share it.

3. Optional online play (Apple Game Center)

If you choose to play online, Skylanes uses Apple's Game Center to match you with other players and to pass turns back and forth. In that case your Game Center identity (the alias and player identifier that Apple assigns you) and the state of your match are handled by Apple's Game Center service so the game can be delivered to your opponent. We do not receive, store, or build a profile from this information beyond what is needed to run the match. Game Center is provided by Apple and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Online play is entirely optional; you can enjoy the whole game without it.

4. Playing over Messages (iMessage)

When you play inside a Messages conversation, your move is encoded into the message bubble you send and travels through Apple's Messages service to the people in that conversation. It stays within your conversation. We do not see, receive, or store the contents of your Messages games.

5. Playing nearby (Bluetooth and local Wi-Fi)

Nearby play connects the devices in the room directly to each other over Bluetooth or your local Wi-Fi network using Apple's peer-to-peer networking. Game data moves only between the players' devices. Nothing about a nearby game is sent to us.

6. What we do not do

• We do not show advertisements.
• We do not use third-party advertising, tracking, or analytics SDKs — our analytics are first-party and anonymous.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites.
• We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or photos.
• We do not access your device's precise or background location (our approximate location is derived from your IP address only).
• We do not sell or rent your data.

7. The website

The skylanes.app website uses privacy-friendly, first-party analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful: page views, the referring site, an approximate location from your IP address, and basic device and browser type, tied to a random visitor identifier rather than to your identity. It does not set advertising cookies, does not use third-party analytics or ad SDKs, and does not track you across other sites. Web typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your browser's IP address as part of serving those fonts, subject to Google's Privacy Policy. If you email us, we receive the message you send.

8. Children

Skylanes is suitable for players of all ages and is not directed at children under 13 for the purpose of collecting data. Because the app does not collect personal information or offer accounts, it does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

9. App Store privacy label

Consistent with this policy, Skylanes' App Store privacy label reports the anonymous analytics described above as Data Collected — specifically Usage Data (product interaction), a device identifier, and a coarse, city-level location — not linked to your identity and not used to track you. If a future feature changes what is collected, we will update both this policy and the label before it ships.

10. Changes to this policy

If we add a feature that changes how information is handled, for example an optional Row1 account for cross-app features, we will revise this policy and note the new effective date here. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
